                       TREE

A tree is a perennial, woody stem, that branches off the ground. The term usually refers to those plants whose height exceeds a certain limit, other sources say, 2 meters, [1] 3 meters [2] [3] 5 meters [4] or the 6 m [5] at maturity . They also produce new secondary branches each year starting from a single stem or trunk with clear apical dominance, [6] giving rise to a new cup off the ground. Some authors make a minimum of 10 cm in diameter at the trunk (the length of the circumference would be 30 cm). [7] Woody plants that do not meet these characteristics have several trunks, or are of small size, are considered shrubs .

The trees have a greater longevity than other types of plants. Certain species of trees (such as redwood) may exceed 100 m in height, and come to live for thousands of years. [8]

Trees are an important component of the natural landscape because they prevent erosion and provide a protected ecosystem of the weather in their foliage and below it. They also play an important role in producing oxygen and reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and moderate soil temperatures. They are also elements in landscaping and agriculture, both for his good looks as for its production of fruits in the orchard as the apple. Wood from trees is a building material as well as a primary energy source in many developing countries. Trees also play an important role in many mythologies of the world. [9]
